It is quite possible I will only have a few more shots of flowers to share (ones I’ve already taken) until next spring. We are supposed to get a decent freeze and even snow or ice, so the few flowers left blooming are probably going to be done for the year.
It really is early for us to get snow of any kind and definitely early for any measurable amounts. That said, if we get it tonight, this will apparently be the third year in a row that we get snow before Halloween.
I’m not really ready to be cold all winter, but I am looking forward to the subject change for photos. Assuming we actually get enough to take photos of.
Getting some color on the Autumn Sedum. An not just the little bee. This is a definite sign that cooler temps are on their way. I just really wish those cooler temps weren’t the predicted record breaking low high temp for the day that is expected later in the week.
I’m going to admit that taking the photos of this made me really jumpy. Especially when I wanted to get this closer shot and I’ve got my camera up in this thing’s face. When my flash pops up on the top of my camera, I jumped and maybe squealed a little bit because I thought it was the mantis jumping at me. I would have peed myself if I hadn’t been using the screen on the back. If I’d had my eye to the viewfinder when that happened, I’d probably be looking at how much it cost to fix a broken camera. No, I’m not a huge fan of bugs and stuff like that. Probably why you don’t get to see too many photos of them.
These things have done so much damage to my Rose of Sharons and the leaves on a lot of my trees. Thankfully they aren’t nearly as bad this year as they were a couple of years ago.
Just wanted to drop a note and wish all those that ever fill the role, no matter who you are, a Happy Father’s Day! I’ll be busy with the kids making it an awesome day for Hubby.
