Late Afternoon Sun

Apparently my cranky pants are still firmly in place today. This happens when roofers begin work at the butt crack of dawn right outside my window.

You’d think I’d be used to this by now. I’ve dealt with construction noises in my neighborhood since we moved in 16 years ago, only ever getting a few months here and there of quiet.

The difference? Almost every single house behind me, new houses that are only about 2 years old, are getting a new roof put on. Have you ever heard a new roof getting put on? It is non-stop banging from the start to the finish of the project. There are a LOT of new houses behind me.

I do feel bad for the homeowners because no one should have to replace the roof on a house that is only a few years old. When we saw the first one getting done, it was confusing, but just chalked it up to a potential random thing. Then a few days later, a couple more houses were getting the same treatment. Then a couple more. The only thing we can come up with is that there had to have been some major recall or defect in the roofing. And DAMN! That has got to suck.

Still, I really wish stuff like this didn’t start so frickin’ early in the morning!
