I say this is a universal pie crust because it really does work amazingly well in any application you need pie crust. Continue reading “Universal Pie Crust”
8 batches of pie crust (recipe coming soon) that got turned into 16 mini pot pies and one big pot pie for our dinner and I’m done with my baking for my FIL. Continue reading “One Part Done”
This weekend kicked of the Christmas programs at BG’s dance studio. They are always cute, sweet and fun. What I did not quite anticipate was the fact that, with her ballet program at least, she would now be in a show with Seniors. Continue reading “All Sparkles and Feels”
This fudge recipe is super easy. I always make up 2 different kinds, peanut butter and chocolate espresso. It used to be full batches, but it makes so much, I finally figured out how to do a half batch. Continue reading “Easy Fudge”
I didn’t get the recipe up the last time I made these, so I made sure to get pics this time around.
I’ve already got the Chex mix made up. Or at least the first batch as that goes really quickly and I usually end up making a second. I plan on starting the rest probably tomorrow. Continue reading “Up Next… Baking!”
I got all my wrapping done today. Yay! That means I’ll have over a week of seeing my tree nice and full with presents underneath. The only thing left is whatever Hubby needs to do. It feels really good to be done, but… Continue reading “That’s A Wrap”
Another one from the ice storm years ago. This is probably one of my all time favorite shots, partly because of the color, part the ice and part because I adore pathway shots. I have a handful of those, but this one I was crazy lucky to get as the ice didn’t stick around all that long in the sun. As dangerous and damaging as an ice storm like that is, it is one of the most beautiful things to experience. It is like the world has transformed into this crystalline wonderland with everything thickly coated and sparkling in the bright sun.
This is a really old one from a huge ice storm we had years ago.
Today will, hopefully, finish what is left of my shopping. I have one or two things left on my list to take care of, but the last big thing is what the kids do for each other. Continue reading “Finishing Up and Gift Giving”
Still no snow. We’ve been cold, but no snow. Continue reading “Still Waiting On The White Stuff”
We did our annual holiday light tour tonight. We packed up the kids with blankets and hot chocolate, Hubby and I with coffee, ran through a drive thru for dinner and started on the neighborhoods near there. Continue reading “Annual Holiday Light Tour Tradition”
I finally forced myself to go to the doctor yesterday. I always dread it when I have to go for my annual bout of bronchitis because I feel like I’m drug seeking. I know what works. I’ve been doing this for years and yet, for years, the doctors always do the same thing. Give me various different things like steroids, inhalers, or whatever new drug they are pushing. The only thing that works is the steroids to calm things down and the cough medicine with the codeine to stop me from coughing, either until I puke or pee. Even then, it often takes several rounds to get this crap to go away and by then we are into February or March. Continue reading “Bleh!”
I have no clue when we will see the white stuff this year. When fall first hit, I thought for sure it was going to be a long, bitter cold winter with lots of snow because we had some crazy low temperatures for that time of year. Now, we were near 70 yesterday. It is supposed to be cold the rest of the week, but no snow in the forecast. I would really like one good snow this year, then it can pack it’s bags, along with the cold, and find somewhere farther north to hang for the rest of the season.
Oodles of hours, multiple trips to both the hardware store and the craft store later and my life size giant nutcrackers are done! Continue reading “Giant Life Size Nutcracker Done!”
I made huge progress today with Hubby’s help, but I’m so done for the day. Continue reading “Gaah! So Close!”
