It occurred to me the other day that I’m getting close to the two year anniversary of when the life I was familiar with began to get ripped apart, and continued to do so through the fall, yet I am still raw and healing in places.
BG graciously agreed to help me work on my book cover concept this week. I adore the fact that she is not only willing to help, but pretty excited to be a part of this with me.
Janie tagged me in the B&W photo challenge. There are rules and, as usual, I don’t like playing by the rules. So… this is supposed to be 1 photo a day for seven days. I’m not sure I can stick to that as I’m sure I have way more than just 7 I like, so there might be more. I’ll stick the the rule of no people as I don’t usually post photos of people anyway. You are also supposed to tag someone else to participate. Nah, you want to play along, please do, otherwise… enjoy.
Years ago, and I’m talking maybe 10, I stupidly thought I wanted some herbs. I planted some chamomile, basil, lavender, sage and… mint.
Always fun when the first day of summer is cold and rain drenched.
I thought that when I posted the last picture of these that my bed was pretty full. Apparently, my mind is a bit too small for the daylilies because they just exploded. It was nearly twice as full of blooms the other day. I’m pretty sure this is the most I’ve ever had these bloom and I’ve had this bed for nearly 14 years. Because they only stay open for a day, hence the name, I think I’m getting close to these being done. I may have a few of other colors start to come up as they bloom at a different time, but this mass of color is nearly done for the season.
I had planned on doing my usual with this and taking pictures along the way, but… me being a crazy, stressed out, busy me over the last several days managed to forget that was the plan until the cake was baked, iced and served out onto plates.
I’ve only done this one a few times, but we all really love it. It is very similar to banana bread, but just a little lighter in texture and just a touch sweeter, because… cake.
Pretty damn sure I have found and secured the perfect fit for me in an editor.
