It has been raining and storming for nearly 24 hours almost non-stop (still a few hours shy of that, but it’s close and we aren’t anywhere near done yet). Normally, that isn’t that big of a deal but that rain has been coming down in buckets that entire time. Oh, and the storming part. Yeah, that part was super fun to try and sleep through. I couldn’t decide which was worse. The wind sounding like it was going to blow the roof off or the massive claps of thunder that shook the foundation for extended periods of time feeling more like an earthquake than thunder. And it is COLD! I actually had to turn the heat back on. I don’t think I’ve ever done that this late in May.
Between the lack of sleep last night and the night before (thank you lack of grace for giving me achy muscles and a banged up elbow!), I’m struggling to not be grumpy. I can say the positive in all of this is that, fingers and toes crossed, we haven’t seen any leaks. I’m kind of shocked by that. I don’t think that we’ve had a crazy heavy rain like this in the 15 years we’ve been in this house that didn’t give us at least a small leak somewhere. Today, I’m taking the positive where I can and running with it.
Now if I could just find a book to read…
We actually got snow last night after having a day full of rain.

That’s just crazy! I get that some areas do still potentially get snow this time of year, but this is some crazy weather.

Yeah, May snowstorms are not unheard of in Colorado. It’s always fun how random our weather can be at times.

Colorado is gorgeous! I’ve been in both summer and winter and loved it.

We have snow here too (Colorado) but it seldom rains and when it does, it’s short bursts.

I haven’t put my rain gauge out yet, so I’m not certain the amount we’ve gotten, but I’m thinking probably in the neighborhood of 6 inches or so. And that is just with this round. The area we live in is already beyond saturated and having issues with flooding. This definitely didn’t help that.

I’ve been watching the flooding on the National news – so scary!

There isn’t anything too close to me that is badly flooded at the moment, but there have definitely been areas near rivers and creeks that have been causing some problems.

I live in Colorado too! You’re right it is rare that we have full rainy days. I do love the rainstorms when we get them!

Did you find a book?

No, I have spent the day being an utter slug and playing games instead. I so need to get out of this rut.

Good games? Nothing wrong with a day of candy crush or whatever

Ha! It was totally candy crush! I have others that I’ve played and need to get back to, but they require a bit more brain power than I’m capable of lately. I wonder if that is why I’m struggling with finding books that I’m truly enjoying (with a small few being the exception).

I’ve been obsessed with this puzzle game home design I think. You play a puzzle and you get points and then you can work towards decorating a room. My favorite thing to get me out of a rut

That sounds fun! Since I love redoing the rooms in my house so much, my hubby would probably appreciate me playing a game rather than dragging the paint out and making him move furniture.

It’s cute. It gives you three choices of items for a spot. It’s nice cause you feel like you’re do8ng the puzzles to get to something
