The Iris has become one of my favorite flowers. I love the soft looking ruffled petals. They look so delicate, but they last for a pretty long time. I’m not sure I have anything else planted in my yard that the bloom stays on looking great at it’s peak for as long as an Iris.
If that isn’t enough, then you have the color. I don’t have a ton, but I have a good variety. Enough to give my yard some amazing spring color that lasts for at least a couple of weeks.

One of the other things I love about them, is how much detail shows in the closer macro photos.

There is so much going on on those petals close to the heart of the flower.

I love how some have more of a ruffled look than others. Some are incredibly frilly while others are have smoother, simpler petals.

I love them all, so I couldn’t even begin to say which color was my favorite. Probably the one that is in front of me at the moment.

Beautiful flowers and great photographs of them! Especially like the Rusty Iris.

I really only ever do well with stuff that you can plant and ignore, otherwise it is more 50/50 if the thing lasts.
