Feeling My Age

Purple Hyacinth

Yesterday, I took BG and a couple of her friends out shopping. BG needed some clothes for the coming warm weather and I thought it would be fun to have her friends come a long, go to lunch and make it a day. It was so awesome and those kids are crazy fun. I love that my daughter has such amazing friends.

In all, we were out running around for about 6 hours. Now, you have to know, I spend way more of my time sitting in a chair with a book or my computer than I do up moving around. Lately it seems that I do this even more than ever and my average daily step count is… well… exceptionally sad. Those 6 hours saw my step count at nearly quadruple my average as of late and my poor, old body is so NOT happy with me about that fact.

I knew it was going to suck last night when I was already uncomfortably sore in weird places, but today is going to be me whining like a baby and begging to not move. I feel even worse about it when I think I’m probably complaining more than Hubby and he spent the last several days working in the yard cleaning up all our flower beds and hauling massive bags of mulch all over the place while I just walked around and now feel like I want to cry. Talk about feeling old!

I know I’m way on the lazy side and avoid pretty much all form of exercise like I would my own execution, but this is kind of nuts. Sigh. I guess I need to get off my butt more. Oh, well. Sore or not, I had an amazing day with my girl and her friends. I’ll take the amazing day anytime.

I am a slightly sane artist, amateur photographer, book addict, wife, mom and raging introvert. I have more hobbies than I can count, so it is beyond shocking that I manage to find time to do any of them, let alone most of them and still have time to do anything else. Of all the talents I claim, writing wasn’t one of them until my muse dropped the idea for a book on my head.
