Staying Warm

Fire in Fireplace

Today is traditionally a crazy busy day for me. It is the day that all the holiday decorations come down and get put away.

It is also a day of massive cleaning since all the decorations leave my house covered in needles from my trees and garland as well as what always seems to be buckets of glitter (I’m assuming all that is from the ornaments and with the amount I clean up every year, you’d think they’d be bare by now). I also almost always rearrange the furniture in my living room. Things have to be moved around to make room for the tree in the first place, so I take advantage of that fact when it is time to put everything back together. Now, my house is all back to normal. It always feels a little drab without all the lights, but it is still nice to be done.

I am now utterly beat. I’ve been going since about noon and have only been able to sit down for about an hour and then it will be off to bed again. Tomorrow will be a lazy day for all of us since it is the last day the kids and Hubby are home. After that, everything will be back to normal and holiday mode will officially be over.

I’ll have all of a few days before I have to shift my brain into birthday mode for MC, but I will get at least a couple of days of normal before I have to worry about that. I love having everyone home for nearly two weeks every year, but I’m also really glad when everyone gets back on some sort of schedule.

Now, if we can get the temps to warm past snot freezing level, that would be great.
