At least with the decorating part anyway. I still need to get back to work on my nutcracker project, but I think I’m going to need to take a day off to just rest tomorrow. Trying to do all of this over the last week while battling a very nasty cough has just worn me out and I think I need to be done for a bit. Tomorrow is doing to be a veg day where I just sit and soak up all the pretty that is my house for the holidays.
I know that I wouldn’t have come even close to getting any of this done the last several days if it weren’t for loads of help from Hubby and the kids. I adore that we all still love doing this and that both MC and BG get giddy about doing up the house for the season. The fact that BG stepped away from her phone and the new boyfriend (oh, yeah, that one is official now) and MC away from the computer games to help nearly the whole day just shows how important that time we spend together is to them.
I’d found a couple of Santa hats last year, but they were from when the boys were tiny, before BG was born, and way too small, but they had so much fun goofing off with them when we were decorating that I picked up several this year and we all wore them the whole day while we were working. As usual, we were all being crazy and silly. Hubby and MC had a blast making up their own lyrics to the Christmas songs that were playing and belting them out at top volume. BG pointed out every song that is used for her Christmas program for dance and randomly did progressions through the living room between hanging ornaments on the tree. The hat is going to be a new family tradition as it just added to the craziness.
I am worn out beyond all belief, but I’m so full up with all that is my family.
Nothing better than real good family. I love that you had a good day!
