One of my (many) hobbies is making cakes. Usually I only ever do these for my kids or other close family members. This year for my daughter’s birthday, I wanted to try and mimic her ballet costume. Since we hadn’t gotten the costume yet, I had to enlist the help of her teacher to get hints of what it was going to look like. When it was all finished and I showed the teacher the finished product, she fell in love and asked me to make one for her daughter’s birthday that fell just a few weeks after the recital. Since I really had fun on the first one doing it off of only fabric swatches, a simple drawing and a lot of guesswork, I thought it would be even more fun to try and get even closer.
I was right. It was fun. Huge challenge, but totally worth it. This project sadly took quite a bit of time away from reading, but I’ll be back to writing reviews soon.
